Rome's metro system has two lines that intersect at Termini Railway Station. Line A (orange) is the fraction of Osteria del Curato ("Anagnina" station) located near the south-east of the GRA, to the neighborhood Primavalle ("Battistini" station) which is located in the north west. Line B (the first to be built) instead goes from south-west to north-east, from the Eur district ("Laurentina" station) to Ponte Mammolo ("Rebibbia" station). Line C is under construction but once finished it will go from Monte Compatri-Pantano to Grottarossa.
Line B is further branched at Piazza Bologna thanks to the recent construction of new metro stops S.Agnese / Annibaliano, Libia (both in the Trieste area) and Conca d'Oro (in the Monte Sacro district). One more station is under construction ("Ionio") between the Prati Fiscali district and Tufello.
The metro is definitely a useful tool for tourists visiting Rome: its path follows the most important stops of the tourist trail.
Line A first encounters the studios of Cinecittà and the so-called Park of the Aqueducts in the Appio Claudio area, then
it reaches the center to the Basilica of San Giovanni, Piazza della Repubblica, the Trevi Fountain, the Spanish Steps and Piazza del Popolo . Towards the end of the journey the metro meets the basilica of St. Peter and one of the most elegant district of Rome: the Prati district.
Line B (blue) crosses the modern neighborhood called Eur to the beautiful Basilica of St. Paul, and it continues to the historic districts of Garbatella and Testaccio (where the Pyramid is) to the heart of the city: Circus Maximus, Colosseum and the Monti area (with the magnificent Via Cavour), after the Termini station we also find the symbol of Rome's nightlife, the San Lorenzo district (close to the University La Sapienza ) and the elegant neighborhoods Nomentano and Trieste.
The two lines are further connected to rail services that connect the capital with the rest of the region and Italy. Very useful as links that lead to two airports, in Ostia (which in summer becomes the true "center" of Rome) and the Castelli Romani. Those who choose to enjoy Rome by night instead can take advantage of the bus lines that cover exactly the same routes of the underground lines.
For all these reasons, we decided to collect in the following section all the room rentals in Rome located near metro stations: the choice of one of these structures will allow you to move around the city in complete freedom, without spending too much and without giving up the charm and the magic of the Eternal City.
